Volunteering
Ways to share time and skills

“I realise how fortunate I’ve been to have had the opportunity of being part of the big JRS family... it was a wonderful opportunity to meet people from all walks of life whilst working with a tremendous team of people, who became my colleagues, my friends and eventually like my second family.” Gaelle Angoh, volunteer visitor to detainees
“JRS-UK volunteers are integral to our work. Without the volunteers, JRS-UK could not do as much as it does; and without the volunteers, hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers would be left unsupported and uncared for each year” Louise Zanré, Director
You can volunteer in different ways with JRS-UK:
Letter writing and visits
Correspond with or visit a refugee in a removal centre - contact us for more information about this in London or contact your local Justice and Peace group for more information in your local area.
Day Centre
Help at the Day Centre – we need people who can spend time and talk with visitors, assist with grant-making and undertake individual follow-up care.
Skills
Offer time and professional skills to the office team – we can use support with administration tasks, running projects, IT, communications and hospitality.
Do get in touch explaining a little about yourself and what time and skills you wish to offer so we can fix a time to discuss the opportunity in more detail with you.
Please look at the international website for international opportunities.
