Imagine if…
humanity was the only passport,
the only prerequisite to having:
Status-
Recourse-
Access-
everything that allows
a life to be lived decently,
fully, with dignity.
Imagine a world…
that deals in kindness, in acceptance.
A world where everyone can live
free from fear or persecution.
A world where everyone can thrive,
make a difference,
feel that they belong.
Imagine there was no ‘us’ and ‘them’
Imagine we were all connected,
truly, and acted like it.
Imagine that was you –
your family –
your home that was not
safe anymore.
Sometimes it feels like so many
leaders, decision makers
suffer from a lack of
Imagination, of Empathy.
I am not sure I have an answer.
Perhaps it is to keep at it,
not give in,
not give up on change.
Keep fighting
Keep hoping
Keep imagining.
