Your generous donation supports JRS UK in its mission to accompany, serve and advocate for refugees who find themselves destitute or detained as a direct result of the UK’s cruel and inhumane asylum system.
In particular your donation today contributes directly to the work of the volunteers and staff who assist our destitute refugee friends during the often-long wait for resolution to their situations.
The services our team provides includes:
- Mobile phone top-ups to ensure refugee friends can remain in touch with loved ones and their social networks, including JRS emotional support volunteers
- Monthly access to our Centre’s shop where refugee friends can choose two weeks’ worth of nutritious store cupboard staples, baby supplies and toiletries
- Hardship grants to help refugee friends experiencing exceptional circumstances
- Accompaniment, advice and support around homeslessness, healthcare, and legal troubles

Volunteer to host a refugee
One of the greatest challenges faced by the refugees accompanied by JRS UK, is the lack of accommodation. The JRS At Home programme organises short term accommodation with individuals, parishes and religious communities for refugees who would otherwise be homeless.
If you live in the London area and have a spare room, you could make a huge difference to the life of refugee.
Give as you Live
You can help raise money for JRS anytime you shop on-line through Give As You Live. Over 3,000 on-line retailers will give a donation to us as a charity every time you make a purchase. This income provides resources for setting up smaller projects that we cannot get grants for.
Give Regularly
Every month, JRS UK welcome more than 300 refugees left destitute by the asylum system, and visit scores of people held in detention. Our refugee friends find comfort and hope be feeling accompanied during difficult situations. A donation every month will ensure the consistency and reliability of our services to support refugees in the UK.
Gift Aid It
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, which means your donations to JRS UK will be worth 25% more to us at no extra cost to you.
If you Gift Aid your donations we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate to JRS UK. This additional income really does make a big difference, so please don’t forget to Gift Aid your donations if you are a UK tax payer.

Leave a legacy
Leaving a gift in your will to a charity is a special way to leave a legacy. By remembering refugees with a gift in your will, your values of love and care for your neighbour will live on through the services of JRS UK.
