Lenten Journeys

Holy Saturday

20 April 2019

From today’s First Reading:

“Now the earth was a formless void, there was darkness over the deep, and God’s spirit hovered over the water.”
Genesis 1:1-2:2

Today is Holy Saturday, an in between space.

As we wait in hope and anticipation of the resurrection today, share your hopes with the Lord.

An Invitation to Prayer and Reflection

Over the weeks of Lent, we have introduced you to Ibrahim, Fernand, Juliet, John, Cecile, Christian and Han; and invited you to accompany them through their joy and their hopes; and through their uncertainties and anxieties.

We have journeyed with them as they waited to be recognised as a refugee; as they waited to be allowed to contribute, participate and give back to society; as they waited and hoped for the dignity of work; as they waited to be released from indefinite detention; as they waited for their lives to begin again, in all its richness.

As we wait in hope for the Resurrection, notice the memories of this Lenten journey that are stirred in you.
