Join JRS walking across London in support of our new Legal Project.
JRS is taking part in the London Legal Walk on Monday 17th June. With over 10,000 people participating, this annual 10 km walk across Central London aims to raise awareness and funds for organisations affected by legal aid cuts.
As we have recently added a legal team to our services – it’s the first time we’ve been able to take part and fundraise for this event, as we now have an OISC registered Legal Advice Service. We are organising a group of staff, volunteers and refugee friends to walk together and have a fun day out!
Walk & Fundraise: Join the JRS team of walkers and see how much you can fundraise to help us reach our target.
Donate: Support our walkers by donating to the team.
Just Walk: Come and join us on the day to accompany & cheer on our walkers.
Spread the word: Pass the message on to anyone who you think might be interested in walking, fundraising, or donating.
And of course, please do keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
The money you raise will go directly to supporting the JRS UK legal team, which offers vital legal advice to many of our refugees friends struggling to navigate through the complicated asylum process.
While many refused asylum seekers eventually gain recognition with the help of good legal advice, cuts to legal aid mean solicitors have less time to compile necessary evidence or work as closely with their clients as they would like. Therefore our legal team acts to get know individual cases in greater detail – giving them the attention they deserve.
