The Birmingham Diocesan Justice & Peace Commission will be exploring “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matthew 25:35) as the theme of this year’s upcoming Annual Assembly.
Nicholas Hanrahan, Community Outreach Officer for JRS UK, will be one of the guest speakers at the event. Nick will be sharing a little about the work and mission of JRS around the world, with a particular focus on our work accompanying destitute refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
Nicholas said, “I’m looking forward to meeting many people passionate about social justice and having conversations about how, as people of faith, we can respond to the needs of migrants and refugees. It is always a pleasure sharing the work we do at JRS, especially those who are doing similar work in other parts of the country.”
David Newall, Project Manager at Brushstrokes which works with Migrants and refugees in the Birmingham area, will also be speaking at the assembly; along with workshops from a variety of organisations linked to the Justice & Peace movement.
