On Friday, JRS UK brought together all their different volunteers for a Christmas celebration to say a big thank you for their hard work throughout the year. The Christmas party allows the volunteers to sit back, relax and catch up with others as all of JRS comes together to enjoy an incredible meal cooked by our chef. Sarah Teather, Director of JRS UK, said “The Christmas party is a very small way that we can say thank you to our volunteers for all their work. Without a team of such dedicated and hard working volunteers we would not be able to function so we truly are incredibly grateful for all they contribute.”
Under the direction of our refugee chef, guests were provided with a christmas feast as they enjoyed ham, lamb, fish, pigs in blankets, stuffing, turkey, rice and vegetables until they could eat no more. Following some words of thanks from Sarah, our volunteers received a small gift from the JRS UK team to take home before home-made cake was served for dessert. William Neal, Communications assistant said, “It was nice to have a day when we can say thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers. When day-to-day life gets busy it is alwasy our volunteers who are on hand to help out as much as possible which we hugely appreciate. It was a really fun day and wonderful to catch up with different volunteers.”
