Mourad’s Story – Part 2
Mourad applied for asylum in 2000. While his application was being processed, he had the right to work. Mourad loves to cook. He got a job in a kitchen in Sloane Square.
“Me I like to cook Mediterranean food. I am working before in a Kitchen. Sloane Square – it’s a chic area. Like posh area. It gives me more opportunity to learn English, to work to live my freedom.”
Mourad speaks Arabic and French. He was pleased to be working as it gave him a chance to practice his English.
