To kick off this year’s Refugee Week, JRS is taking part for the first time ever in the London Legal Walk on Monday, 17th June. With over 10,000 people participating, this annual 10 km walk across Central London aims to raise awareness and funds for organisations affected by legal aid cuts.
Legal support is crucial to help our refugee friends navigate through the complicated asylum procedures, as many refused asylum seekers eventually gain recognition with the help of good legal advice.
As JRS has successfully launched a legal team earlier this year, we are partaking in this event so we can continue to offer vital legal support to our refugee friends, many of whom struggling to gain recognition.
We’re looking for people who’d like to walk with JRS and help us to fundraise for this crucial advice service – would you be up for walking 10 km across London? If you are interested in learning more about how to participate to help us reach our fundraising target, visit our London Legal Walk 2019 page for more information!
