Access to money in exceptional circumstances gives refugees the dignity they deserve.
Being destitute means our refugee friends do not have recourse to public funds nor the right to work and earn an income. For needs outside of food, toiletries and transport, which we all have, refugee friends can access a hardship grant by speaking to one of our caseworkers. This will help cover other expenses and is a lifeline for our refugee friends. During the current health crisis, friends receive hardship grants via their Equals MasterCards, which have been delivered to all of our friends and is topped up remotely by our team every fortnight.
JRS Refugee Gifts are virtual charity gifts which will delight your loved ones and destitute refugees in the UK at the same time.
