“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

Arundhati Roy

This Refugee Week we invited members of the JRS community to take part in a ‘Simple Act’ inspired by the theme ‘Imagine’. Simple Acts are everyday actions we can all do to stand with refugees and make new connections in our communities. Through the ‘Simple Act’ of writing, we invited our community to take a step back from the current moment,  picture something they can’t currently see, and reflect upon their own experiences, their hopes and wishes, and the every day work of JRS UK.

In the era of Covid-19, the call to imagine feels more important than ever. From refugee friends, to volunteers, Jesuits, staff and supporters – ‘JRS UK imagines’ is a collection of creative voices who have come together to celebrate our interconnectedness, stand with refugees and imagine the world they want to see.
